Organisation Approvals

Organisation Approval
Aero21 has a particular specialisation in organisation approvals. This includes:

Design Organisation Approvals (DOA)
EASA Part 21 Subpart J. Aero21 can guide clients right through the DOA application processes from initial application through Handbook writing, assessment by the EASA (Köln) assigned assessment team to award of the approval.

Aero21 has successfully assisted a number of clients with DOAs, several of whom have been initial applicants and others existing DOA holders.

Currently (October 2007) EASA has been transferring oversight of existing DOA holders from the UK CAA to direct oversight by the EASA DOA teams based in Köln. It is Aero21’s experience that the standard required by the Köln teams is more exacting than that which has been acceptable to the UK CAA. This has caused difficulty for the organisations concerned when undergoing the oversight transfer. Aero21 has direct, up to date, knowledge and experience of the Köln teams’ requirements and can assist clients to make a smooth and trouble free oversight transfer.

Production Organisation Approvals (POA)
EASA Part 21 Subpart G. Aero21 can guide clients right through the POA application processes from initial application through Exposition and procedures writing, assessment by the UK CAA assigned assessment team to award of the approval.

Aero21 has successfully assisted several POA clients, new applicants and existing POA holders with their POAs.

BCAR A8-21 Design and Production Approvals
For organisations whose business deals only with “National” aircraft, those operating on a UK Nation C of A or UK National Permit to Fly because they are excluded from EASA control either through 1592/2002 article 1(2) or Annex II, design and production approvals in accordance with UK CAA BCAR A8-21 may be utilised. These are similar to the EASA DOA and POA, but issued and overseen at national level by the UK CAA.

Aero21 is able to draw on its Part 21 experience and expertise to assist clients with all aspects of these approvals.

Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO) Approvals
EASA Part M Subpart G. By the 28th of September 2008, all aircraft operating on an EASA Certificate of Airworthiness must be fully compliant with all requirements of Part M. For some aspects, this requires the services of a “CAMO” approved to Part M subpart G.

As with the Part 21 approvals, Aero 21 can assist clients with all aspects of this approval, from initial application through Exposition and procedures writing to issue of the approval.

Aero21 has assisted several clients with their Exposition and procedures including a complete Exposition re-write for one client.

Maintenance Approvals
EASA Part 145 and EASA Part M Subpart F. Aero 21 can assist clients with all aspects of these approval, from initial application through Exposition and procedure writing to issue of the approval.

Aero 21 has assisted several clients with their Part 145 Exposition and procedures.

Auditing
It is a requirement of all approvals that the approval holder conducts his own first line audits himself. Small organisations frequently sub-contract this activity and Aero21 can provide first line auditing for all the approvals noted above.

Aero21 currently provide first line auditing to several EASA approved organisations on an on-going basis.
